Andrew Heath practices fine art painting as a working artist from his workshop base, Studio 12 at Yorkshire Artspace Society in Sheffield. Periods of painting and working on commissions in the studio are interspersed by periods of working in schools with students designing and creating murals and mosaics.

Education

As an artist I am invited into schools to work on particular projects, commissions or residencies, painting murals or making mosaics. It usually involves student participation in the design and making processes and is suitable for students across the key stages. Projects can vary in duration from two days to several weeks, involving time directly in the school and time in the studio.

Studio

My studio work can be described as figurative painting in oils and ranges in size from miniature on wood to large scale on canvas, including commissions and portraiture. The current series of paintings is the culmination of nearly twenty years of practice in this medium and reflects my continuing intrigue with the human form, space and colour.
